As a Sales Account Manager you will support and actively engage in growing our business in Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri. The successful candidate must excel in providing excellent communication, analytical and relationship-building skills along with a drive to not only acquire new business but manage the entire sales process for the area.   • Identify geographic areas that need representation
  • Promote programs to enhance market position in the area
  • Assist Retail Partners through field visits to help them work independently
  • Proficiently provide recommendations on soils and crops utilizing knowledge of cultural practices of the area, ability to interpret soil results and agronomy
  • Recognize and act upon opportunities for growth
  • Provide written weekly summary reports to Regional Sales Manager
  • Identify and communicate unusual or developing circumstances to RSM
  • Review area progress on an annual basis, detailing strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop a business plan to capitalize strengths and improve areas of deficiency
  • Help Retail Partners identify needed resources
  • Develop and approve budgets in a timely and realistic manner
  • Review credit limits and assist with information gathering for increases
  • Conduct annual business planning sessions with Retail Partners

Qualifications:

  • Professional background and experience consistent with agriculture is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in sales and agronomy
  • Financial management experience in budgets, expenses and sales projections
  • Proven ability to effectively manage time between accounts and recruitment
  • Exhibit self-motivation and possess excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to regularly stand; sit; lift; squat; stoop and move up to 50 lbs
  • Located or willing to relocate to area of responsibility
  • Available for overnight travel up to approximately 40% of the time

Production Chemist (St. Johns, MI)

Innovative plant nutrition company is seeking to add a Production Chemist to our staff to support and actively engage in company growth, goals and objectives as it relates to formulating, recommending, and overseeing applied and pure research programs, projects and complex studies utilizing knowledge of mathematical, statistical, and physical science concepts and techniques.  Lead formulation improvements resulting in new products carrying through the research process for introduction to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with procurement to develop strategies for conducting root cause analysis and improving product quality and compatibility over the complete spectrum of products
  • Develop product manufacturing techniques that improve overall product quality and compatibility
  • Analyze New Material Sources for quality
  • Assist with development and management of Supplier Scorecards
  • Developing New Products and improving existing products under general Supervision
  • Set quantitative goals and work with suppliers to maintain and improve quality of incoming materials
  • Identify alternative source materials to improve quality and product costing
  • Assists with recommendations to correct field issues related to product quality
  • Experimental Product Sales Support tools
  • Maintain SOP’s for all processes including lab operations, production scale ups, and safety management for new processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in related field or Equivalent Experience
  • Continuous Improvement, ISO, or LEAN Manufacturing Experience Required
  • Manufacturing Scale Up Experience Required
  • Plant physiology, microbiology and/or botany knowledge
  • Ability to accountably work independently and as member of a team
  • High level of professionalism and communication skill
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage operations under general supervision
