Soil-applied fertilizers aren’t always enough to help a crop overcome stressors or peak nutrient demands. But with soybean foliars, growers can bypass the complexities of soil chemistry and deliver straight into the plant tissue for immediate uptake.
Direct absorption
Soybean leaves have pores designed for gas exchange, but they also serve as a gateway for liquid nutrients.
Unlike traditional fertilizers that need to wait for better roots and soil moisture, foliar applications provide a readily available source. This is particularly important for micronutrients like manganese, iron, and zinc. These specific elements often become locked in the soil due to pH imbalances or cool and wet conditions, making them inaccessible to the roots.
Here at AgroLiquid, we have spent decades refining foliar technology to make sure these nutrients are entering the plant. Our Nutriq technology means there is synergy between primary, secondary, and micronutrients, creating a delivery system that supports performance throughout the growing season.
Solutions for growth stages
Choose your foliar product wisely. Effective nutrition requires high-quality materials that reduce the risk of leaf tissue burn while maximizing efficiency.
AgroLiquid offers different products designed for soybean needs:
- Sure-K: Sure-K is a high-efficiency potassium fertilizer. Potassium helps during reproductive stages, and Sure-K is formulated without chlorides or hydroxides. This protects the plant from tissue damage and preserves long-term soil health.
- LiberateCa: While calcium is often labeled a secondary nutrient, it is needed for cell wall strength, stress resistance, and water transport. This formula is designed for easy application and maximum availability.
- FertiRain: For a comprehensive plan, FertiRain provides a multi-nutrient blend. It includes macronutrients, secondary nutrients, and micronutrients in precise amounts to support the crop through its growth stages.
Proven results
AgroLiquid programs are supported by field research. In Aurora, Nebraska, researchers tested different combinations of in-furrow and foliar programs on Great Plains soils. The results were clear – every treatment involving AgroLiquid foliars showed an improvement over the untreated check.
The most intensive treatment – combining in-furrow nutrition with foliar applications of FertiRain, Sure-K, and LiberateCa – reached a yield of 59.88 Bu/A, a significant increase of 4.86 Bu/A over the control group.
Plus, studies on application timing showed that foliar treatments applied at the beginning bloom growth stage typically provided a better yield response than earlier applications.
Long-term data also supports this value. Since 1998, AgroLiquid has evaluated the yield response to foliar-applied Sure-K at over 170 locations. Across 184 trials, the data consistently shows a high level of performance and a positive economic benefit, proving that foliar nutrition is a solid investment.
Precision tool
Soybean foliars are a proactive tool for precision agriculture. By using high-efficiency products like Sure-K and LiberateCa, growers can make sure their crops have the fuel required to reach their full potential, regardless of what’s happening underground.
